Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sign-up to get food from the SYBA Food Pantry?

We accept appointments through:

  • the app, Plentiful, which you can download in your App store (Apple or Android)
  • by text. Send a text with the word “food” to the number 726879
  • by email. Email us at food@sybaptist.org or use the contact form below
  • by phone. Call our Ministries line at (704) 873-1738
Do I need an appointment?

We do take and strongly suggest that you have an appointment to receive food. If you do not have an appointment, you may come in as a walk-in, but there are no guarantees that we’ll be able to see you that day.

How do I donate food to the SYBA Food Pantry?

Thank you so much for your willingness to donate! Food donations can be dropped off during our regular hours. Please contact us at food@sybaptist.org or using the contact form below to find out drop off days and times.

Items we love as donations:

  • canned meat
  • canned soups and ramen
  • pasta and pasta sauce or alfredo
  • crackers
  • cereal and breakfast items
  • canned fruit
  • canned vegetables
  • canned beans and peas
  • shelf-stable dessert and baking items
  • shelf-stable side items such as rice, mashed potatoes, and skillet meals
  • canned pasta meals for kids
  • shampoo and conditioner
  • toilet paper
  • toothpaste, deodorant, cleaning supplies, detergents

Items we cannot accept:

  • Expired food
  • Clothing (We recommend donating to Yokefellow Thrift store or Statesville First Baptist Clothing Closet)
  • Diapers and Baby items (We recommend donating to Crossroads Care Clinic, Statesville’s Pregancy Resource Center)
What if I'm late for, missed, or need to reschedule my appointment?

If you’re late and will still be able to come during our open hours, please come.

If you missed your appointment or cannot make it, please reschedule your appointment using the Plentiful app or the text number. These are the best ways to make, change, or cancel an appointment.

How can I volunteer at the SYBA Food Pantry?

Thank you for your willingness to volunteer! If you’re a member of an SYBA church, we would love to tell you more about volunteering. Please email us at food@sybaptist.org or use the contact form below.

Can I bring a group to serve at the Food Pantry?

Thanks for your interest in serving with us! Group projects are coordinated when our food pantry is not open. Some projects may include cleaning, renovations, or stocking. Please fill out the contact form below to start a conversation with our Ministry Coordinator about bringing a group.

We are always happy to accept donations of food or money for us to buy food. To see the list of items needed, see the FAQ below. You may donate money using the Give button.
