Start watching your
church's mail!
Promotional kits on the 2010 North Carolina Missions Offering will
arrive soon!
That
means it's time for your church to start getting organized.
True, the North Carolina Missions Offering (NCMO) is scheduled for
September, and that's some months away. But here's what you need to know
now:
The theme for this year's offering is "Every Nation...Our Generation"
and our goal is $2.1 million. That may sound like a lot of money but
remember the challenge of Acts 1:8 is a big challenge! There are over 6
billion people in the world and 5.5 million in North Carolina that do
not know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. Surely we can all give
sacrificially so the world may hear the Gospel.
The NCMO will help Baptist Men continue doing their great disaster
relief work, medical-dental bus ministry and 12 other ministries and
NCMO contributions will help plant churches across North Carolina to
reach the 234 language groups living in our state.
You'll learn more about how NCMO helps us fulfill the Great Commission
through the promotional kit and through www.NCMissionsOffering.org.
But back to the "organized" word.
It's not too early for your church to select a coordinator, or better
yet, a group of coordinators. NCMO is not just about support; it's about
your church learning about missions!
There's much your coordinators should do soon to introduce NCMO to your
church. For example, possible steps include requesting a special
speaker from the Baptist State Convention and taking a group of your
church members to one of the Baptist Men missions events during August.
Ask your members to start saving so they can give significantly to the
NCMO come September.
